About Us

There are a lot of great places to learn Rails, but RailsGrowth is dedicated to covering growth, marketing, and design topics for founders and teams building on Rails.

RailsGrowth is authored by Kane Jamison. Kane is the Founder of Content Harmony, a SaaS app serving content marketing teams (built on Rails, of course), and long-time agency owner and marketing consultant.

Kane has been building websites since he was a kid, learned HTML in elementary school in the 90s, started building websites on WordPress in 2005, and eventually started developing on Rails in 2018 when Content Harmony started building software for content marketing teams.

Alongside Content Harmony, Kane consults with Rails teams on growth marketing & SEO projects.

This Site

You might notice that this site isn't built on Rails. 😱

I've built my personal site KaneJamison.com as a publishing site on Rails and also a playground for testing ideas, but RailsGrowth is primarily intended to be a place where I publish content, and darn it, it's a lot easier to publish content when you're not noodling around with your esbuild configuration and trying to upgrade to Tailwind 4, isn't it?

I have enough Rails upgrades to manage on my apps that need heavier functionality, and keeping Ghost up-to-date is a much simpler task.

Usage of Rails in the RailsGrowth Name

As noted in the Ruby on Rails Trademark guidance on using Rails in a project name: The Rails trademarks are the intellectual property of David Heinemeier Hanson, and exclusively licensed to the Rails Foundation. Uses of ‘Rails’ and ‘Ruby on Rails’ in this website are for identification purposes only and do not imply an endorsement by or affiliation with Rails, the trademark owner, or the Rails Foundation.
